It isn’t everyday that you get to work with a horse staring at you. But while on this horse property with a private vineyard in the backyard, we certainly had company in the way of a beautiful Thoroughbred.
BEFORE
This family was ready to move on with their lives after a loss, which is never easy. It is even more difficult to be the one to come in and tell them to get rid of half of their stuff that is telling their story! Our goal with this home was to get it sold so that this family could move forward with peace. Part of attaining that goal was to update some of the finishes and add some modern elements while still maintaining the original style of the home. After all, it was a custom home that this family built together and is the remaining memory of their husband / father and his beautiful craftsmanship.
Allowing the home’s beautiful bones speak for themselves, we did not want to overcrowd the areas with too much “stuff” - just enough to tell the story of a home built by hand for a family to grow in. We really needed this kitchen to feel more open, considering the beautiful view it has of the vineyard and pool in the backyard. Lightening up those cabinets was exactly what this space needed! As for the studio off of the garage, turning it into a “game room” allows potential buyers see the possibilities with extra square footage.
This project had its share of obstacles, but at the end of the day it became a new home for a young family to start their adventure.
“Bri helped navigate a very difficult client with me. She was firm in her vision of ‘less is more’ combined with an updated style. She and the team cleaned, organized, moved out and moved in - including a giant armoire - multiple pieces to present the estate in its best light. Because of her efforts and stellar advise on paint colors and interior/exterior staging & placement effects, the house sold in the first 2 weeks - after multiple times of being listed and not sold before we took it over.”
